10 years ago when we launched Alchemy, we knew that the decisions people make regarding their lifestyle and wellness have a direct impact on their effectiveness in role, career and . . . life. Knowing this, we wanted to understand this correlation and after a year of research looking at the available empirical data, meta studies and our own field research, we discovered that there are 6 areas where we need to make good decisions if we are to be at our best.
These are the 6 cylinders of wellness®. In our 2014 research study, we showed that individuals who made small changes to these behaviours were rewarded within 6 weeks with a 8% reduction in stress levels [.05] and 16% reduction in workload pressure [.01]. Further, by focusing on these cylinders, clients in our career transition practice experience a 32% boost in personal wellness, including: 39% boost to self esteem; 30% more energy; 25% greater focus & concentration; 23% more optimism; and 21% greater resilience. All pretty handy at times like this.
